Is Now The Perfect Storm For Canadians to Sell Scrap Gold?

Winnipeg MB: www.kmggold.com
With the Canadian dollar at near record low values compared to the US greenback, and the price of gold driving upwards, could this be the perfect storm for Canadians to sell their scrap gold?

Whenever the Canadian dollar loses ground against the American dollar, Canadians should smile. Gold, silver and all other precious metals are bought and sold in US dollars, so when either the Canadian dollar slips or the U.S. dollar gains strength over the CAD, Canadians come out on top.

Right now the USD is about 1.27 times the CAD, and with gold seeing strength lately, Canadians get more bang for their buck selling gold.

Today, gold traded at around $1180USD/ozt, but with the CAD at 1.27, that saw gold traded in CAD very close to $1500CAD/ozt. Canadians haven't seen these types of prices for gold for at least a year.

Take advantage of the high gold prices and the low Canadian dollar now!

Its the the perfect storm for Canadians to sell their scrap gold, silver, platinum and palladium.

Hawaiian Rose Gold Better?

Just returned from a well deserved holiday in #Maui. Thanks Rolling Rock

There were lots of tourists and cruise ship visitors that were at the #Gold shops looking at #Hawaiian gold. #rosegold etc. Rose gold is simply gold, mixed with a higher percentage of copper to make it appear reddish or rose coloured. There is nothing special about it. And it is not more valuable.

All karat gold is a mixture of gold, which is very yellow and soft, and other metals, such as silver, copper, zinc, tin etc. These other metals colour the final jewelry alloy as well as make it tougher and more resistant to scratches. As gold is very soft and easily scratched.

If Hawaiian jewelry is special to you, then it is well worth it, as that is what jewellery is all about.

How Does Gold Change Colours?

Have you ever been confused by the terms white gold, green gold, and rose gold? All real gold is yellow, isn't it, so how do other colours fit in? Those 'other' colours of gold are alloys, new metals that are created by combining two or more different metals.

Chances are the ring on your finger is marked 18K, 14K, or 10K to indicate how much pure gold is present in the mix.
24K gold is pure gold.
18K gold contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts of another metal(s), making it 75% gold.
14K gold contains 14 parts gold and 10 parts of another metal(s), making it 58.3% gold.
12K gold contains 12 parts gold and 12 parts of another metal(s), making it 50% gold.
10K gold contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts another metal(s), making it 41.7% gold.

#Nickel can be mixed with gold to create a white colour, but be aware that nickel can cause dermatitis in some people (nickel is a fairly common allergen).
#Palladium is another metal used to create white gold alloys. Related to #platinum, it is more expensive than nickel, but is less likely to cause allergic reactions than nickel.
#Copper is added to make many gold-coloured alloys, but additional copper creates pink and rose tones -- the more copper, the deeper the effect.
Greenish shades are created by adding #silver to gold.
