KMG Gold Recycling X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, or XRF technology bombards a metal item with X-rays and measures the amount of X-rays reflected back. The machine then compares "known" values for specific elements and determines what each of the elements are in the item with an accuracy of 0.01%. A gold ring, for example, may contain 41% gold, 10% silver, 45% copper and 4% zinc.

This machine is invaluable for the determination of purity in metals and is the state of the art technology. KMG Gold has the only privately owned XRF machine between Toronto and Calgary. The Gold Buyer Experts-
